Montage Wins Top Workplaces Award

Every day we help clients parlay their strong organizational culture into a competitive advantage using video interviewing technology. This past week though, we also celebrated our own strong and unique culture here at Montage. We’re proud to announce Montage has been selected as a 2016 Top Workplace by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Workplace Dynamics. The award confirms our employees find what they’re looking for when they join our video interviewing technologycompany.

Survey Shows Employees Believe in Montage’s Future

Like the CandE Awards, the Top Workplaces process is a way to gather critical feedback from employees and measure organizational health. Nominations of employers in southeastern Wisconsin are collected, then the Journal Sentinel and Workplace Dynamics survey tens of thousands of workers to compile the most prestigious and credible list of the region's top places to work. Since Montage became eligible to participate for the first time this year due to our growth in size, we jumped on the opportunity, with outstanding engagement: 82% of Montage employees responded to the anonymous survey.

Here are the indices where Montage employees' responses exceeded the benchmark in the “Enterprise Software” category:

  • We’re headed in the right direction.
  • We operate by strong values and ethics.
  • My manager makes it easy for me to do my job well.
  • There is not a lot of negativity in my workplace.

Like every company, our average met or fell below the benchmark in some cases. We’ll use this information going forward as we continue to build and grow.

A Winning Culture from the Start

It’s an honor to be recognized for an organizational effort which has been underway since the beginning.  Montage has always had a unique culture that’s about respect, teamwork and hard work, but also having fun together. Personal and professional growth are extremely important too – perhaps not surprising in an innovative tech company, but it’s part of our daily work lives, not just lip service.  As we’ve grown, we’ve worked hard to nourish our culture, recognizing it as the key to both our employees’ satisfaction and our escalating growth. Comments by Montage employees gathered during our own most recent engagement survey confirm we have a winning culture:

“This is an exciting time to be part of Montage. The winning streak is invigorating. I am happy to be a part of it.”

“I am really excited about the current direction of the company and the future for Montage.”

“I very much enjoy working with and for the people of Montage.”

“I have an awesome boss.  I work with an awesome team.”

Hoopin’, Hollerin’ & High-Fives

As you might imagine, Montage was a spirited place to be late last week when our team heard the great news from President and CEO Kurt Heikkinen. (Of course we used our own video interviewing platform to beam in our remote employees!) Kurt gave a heartfelt message of thanks and it quickly became Employee Appreciation Day Take-Two as he announced a fancy catered lunch would be served by none other than our executive team.

It was another one of those special days that bring us together as a team. This honor reinforces for us how important it is to pay attention to cultivating the right culture even as our company grows and changes.  Hopefully this will be the start of a long tradition!
