Montage Video Interviewing Earns 2014 Award for Talent Management

How Video Interviewing Brought Me Home

So there I was, a passive candidate with an HR career built in the software space, when I came across a posting for HR Manager at Montage.  They asked me to do a pre-recorded video interview, and that spurred an invitation to a live video interview with the hiring team. Being a video interview newbie, I was a little nervous going into it. But it was a smooth debut. Within the first three minutes, I knew this was the company for me.  The friendly, welcoming, family-style culture came through loud and clear in the virtual interview.  As a potential employee, I had candidate experience which confirms, I’ve found that feeling I’ve been looking for.  And as an HR professional, I realized that Montage is onto something big here.

I Needed This Technology 10 Years Ago!

Fortunately, Montage extended a job offer, and I’m now “All Things HR” in this maturing technology company.  I’m back to my usual side of the hiring equation, and I can’t remember how I ever did my job without video interviewing.

Staffing Industry Analysts recently reported that a former temporary employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Robert Half International for time spent prepping for and interviewing for employment opportunities.  Though it’s too early to predict the outcome of this suit, the financial impact could be huge if staffing companies and executive search firms are required to pay for interview and prep time.
